Answering Atheists #2

This one is going to tackle a question that is asked a lot to ‘Christians’ (term used loosely) about the existence of God. I’ve seen it multiple times and in a few different forms.

The various forms look like this:

Form 1- ‘ If there is a God then why do bad things happen?’ this one is a generality.

Form 2- ‘If there is a God why doesn’t he stop molesting and rape and murder etc…’ this one is a fill-in-the- blank version. Recently I had a guy fill in the blank with ‘ bone cancer in children’

Usually, form 2 is personal and so it will look like this ‘ if God is real why didn’t he stop me from getting molested?’ etc…

I don’t like these types of questions because it brings up the harsh reality that these things go on…on a daily basis. I can’t imagine what the Lord has seen as a whole from mankind when considering everything from Genesis 3,6,9,13 Judges 19 etc…all the way up to the rape of Nanking, the Nazi SS human medical tests, the Catholic Church, to the extreme lasciviousness of the queers, and the list goes on. For the most part, ‘Christians’ only answer this with ‘everything happens for a reason ‘ which is true, but the reasons are misconstrued to apply fault to God even though God did not commit the act nor did he sanction it. Now the standard for truth is the KJV 1611 so we will look to it for the answer to this question.

There are a few aspects to the answers for these questions as you’ll see throughout the article.

For form 1 of this question, all you have to do is read Genesis 3, and Romans 5. The very short version of the answer is Adam and Eve chose sin in the garden of Eden and because of that choice sin is now the nature of every man woman and child on the earth…

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. Mark 7:21-22

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23

Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. Psalms 39:5

Sin is the FAULT of Adam and Eve choosing to follow Satan and reject God in the garden.

Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Romans 3:19

Mankind is the one at FAULT and guilty for the ‘bad things’ that happen, it’s in his heart (see Mark 7 above).

Now for the second form, though I don’t like it, it still needs a Bible(KJV 1611) answer.

The answer has three parts, first, once again God does not sanction or permit sin at all. God hates sin so much that even when his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, was on the cross dying for the sins of the world He didn’t stop pouring out His wrath. But let his Son suffer that wrath to make salvation by grace through faith a free gift to all who will receive Jesus Christ (John 1:12).

Secondly, the Bible shows that right now Satan has a certain degree of dominion on the earth. It won’t be for long. But…

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Corinthians 4:4

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. Ephesians 2:2-4

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

These references show that as of right now the devil is allowed a degree of dominion over lost men. This goes all the way back to Adam and Eve’s freewill choice to reject God and sin.

So lost men and women are walking around following ‘the prince of the power of the air,’ whether they recognize it or not.

The third aspect is that though God in his Holiness has given freewill to mankind (his creation), there is a Judgement day coming where God will judge every man according to the records God has kept.

Without going into the doctrinal teaching of the Judgment Seat of Christ (2 Cor. 5:10-11), the Great White Throne Judgement (Revelation 20:11-15), and the Judgement of Nations (Matthew 25:31-46) there are three Judgements coming. With these three everyone will be judged and give an account, lost, saved, old and new testament saints, people in the tribulation and the millennium.

Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Ecclesiastes 8:11

Men reject the fact that there is a Judgement coming. And God is a righteous judge.

That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? Genesis 18:25

The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the Lord shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed. 1 Samuel 2:10

And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness. Psalms 9:8

And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah. Psalms 50:6

I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. Ecclesiastes 3:17

The Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people. Isaiah 3:13

And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me. John 8:16

In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. Romans 2:16

I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom. 2 Timothy 4:1

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:8

God is not at FAULT for man’s decisions, but He will judge them.

It is a lie of the devil to see these things and to ascribe fault to God. A lie the devil is using now to damn people to hell, for he is the father of lies (John 8:44).

The fact that man has trouble on this Earth is nothing new, Job knew it in 1800 B.C.

‘Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.’ Job 5:7

And the devil has done a good job of blinding the minds of lost sinners by lying and making all of it God’s fault.

Until a man or woman has received Jesus Christ they are just following the devil straight to hell. However, ‘whosoever will ‘ receive Jesus Christ, when trouble comes Jesus Christ never leaves them (Heb 13:5) and has already prayed for them (John 17:20).

Better get the right view on things, it’s found only in the King James Bible 1611.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. John 17:17

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
